Schedule for Fifth Sunday in Lent, March 18, 2018

  • 8:08 a.m. – Contemporary worship – Alan leading the service
  • 9:00 a.m. – Breakfast served
  • 9:45 a.m. – Sunday School for all ages
  • 11:00 a.m. – Presbyterian Women’s Day observed; Ellen Gould as worship leader; the PW Circle members will be giving a Skit portraying women of the church in early 1800’s as OPC was in the founding stages. You will see the ladies in the attire of the day!
    • Children’s Church leader – Michelle Koeneke
    • Ushers – June Howell and Lynn Allred
    • Pennies for Hunger will be collected by the children at both services.
    • The Presbyterian Women will not host a reception  this year, so in lieu of that occasion, you are invited to make a donation to the OPC-PW who will be purchasing items for the CWS Clean-Up buckets in April. This is a Presbytery mission that all the PW’s are participating in. The buckets are sent to flood and/or other disaster-type areas for cleaning damaged homes, churches, etc. If writing a check, please make payable to OPC-PW. Thank you!

    • 9:00 a.m. – Read Through the Bible in One Year at Java Dave’s
    • 10:00 a.m. – St. Patrick’s Day activities for the children
  • Wednesday, 21st – 5:30 p.m. – Lenten supper and Bible study
  • Sunday, 25th – Palm Sunday; last day to order lilies in memory or honor of loved ones
  • Sunday, 25th – 12:30 p.m. – Session meets
  • March mission – receiving donations to One Great Hour of Sharing. This organization, too, along with CWS and PDA, works with those in need in times of disasters.  Please make checks payable to OPC, memo – OGHS…THANK YOU!

Prayers continue for those on our weekly prayer list – Sue Huggins, Ann Currin, Dottie Price, Pete Strother, John Newell, Angie Arnold, Linda Diamond, Mike Diamond, Fred Heath, Diane Heath, Isabella Baird, Hannah Hobgood and we ask prayers for George Yancey who has a serious problem with one of his eyes.
